How this estimate works

The estimator prices every AlphaESS, GoodWe and EcoFlow size we install using our own installation costs, then takes off the rebates your system is eligible for.

If you don't have solar yet, it prices a DC-coupled system: new panels and a hybrid inverter with the battery built into the same design. The solar can charge the battery directly without an extra conversion step.

If you already have panels, it prices an AC-coupled retrofit instead — the battery and its own inverter added alongside what's already on your roof, leaving your existing system in place.

What's included in the price

The total takes off the solar STC rebate, the federal battery rebate and the NSW peak demand (PDRS) rebate. The $15,000 interest-free loan is repayable finance that lowers what you pay upfront — "left to pay" is what remains, with a 10% deposit to start. Eligible low-income households can tick the extra Home Energy Saver discount (up to $4,000, applications opening now), which is applied before the loan.

We can handle applicable certificate and incentive paperwork for an eligible installation. The finance application is not administered by us and is not a rebate or quote deduction.

Where it can move

An estimate isn't a quote. The two things that most often change the final number are switchboard condition — older Newcastle boards frequently need an upgrade before a battery can be connected — and roof access or condition, particularly on tile. Both are assessed on site and itemised in the written quote.
