Solar & batteries in Belmont
Belmont sits between the lake and the ocean, so it gets the salt from both sides while having some of the best sun on the eastern seaboard. The housing is a mix of older fibro and brick with a growing number of knock-down rebuilds, and the two need quite different approaches.
What matters in Belmont
- Salt exposure from both the lake and the ocean — coastal-rated rails and fixings are not optional here.
- Older fibro and brick homes usually need the switchboard looked at before storage goes in.
- Newer rebuilds arrive battery-ready with three-phase, which changes what we can recommend.
- Strong sun and unshaded blocks mean excellent generation for the array size.
- Twenty-five minutes down the coast from Hamilton North.

“Alex and the brilliant crew at Newy Solar Co just completed a massive energy upgrade on our home. They installed new AIKO solar panels, a GoodWe ESA battery tower, and completely upgraded our consumer mains electricity connection. Having one highly competent local team handle the grid/mains upgrade and advanced solar deployment made the entire project stress-free. Five-star service from genuine Newcastle solar experts!”
