Done once, done right

An EV charger is only as good as the wiring behind it. We check your switchboard and mains first, size the charger to your home's capacity, and — if you have solar — set it up to charge from your own generation before it pulls from the grid.

Because we're solar and battery specialists, your charger is designed as part of the whole system, not bolted on as an afterthought.

A home charger is a significant new load — typically the largest single appliance in the house. That's why the switchboard comes first. Plenty of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie homes are still running boards installed long before EVs existed, without the spare capacity or the protective devices a charger needs. We assess that before recommending any hardware, and if an upgrade is required it goes in the written quote rather than appearing later.

Charging from your own solar is where the savings actually are. Exported power earns very little now, so a charger set to soak up midday surplus turns generation you'd otherwise sell for a few cents into kilometres you'd otherwise buy. Where a household is out during the day, pairing the charger with a battery lets the car charge overnight from stored sunshine instead of grid power.

Placement matters more than people expect. Where the car actually parks, which side the charge port is on, cable length, and whether the run from the switchboard is practical all get worked out on site. We'd rather spend ten minutes on that than leave you dragging a cable around the car every night.

We also size the cabling with some headroom where it's sensible. A second EV or a faster charger is a common upgrade a few years down the track, and pulling the right cable once is far cheaper than doing the job twice.
