EcoFlow describes a detailed protection framework for OCEAN 2. It is the manufacturer's framework, not comparative proof that this battery is safer than AlphaESS or GoodWe.
IP66 enclosure rating
EcoFlow lists IP66 for the inverter and battery packs. The installation location must still meet the product instructions, site risks and Australian requirements.
Published passive protection
Aerogel thermal insulation, fire-resistant barriers, a built-in fire-prevention module and an explosion-proof pressure-relief valve form part of the passive protection stack.
Published active monitoring
Temperature sensors, a dedicated BMS monitoring chip, active balancing and cloud early-warning monitor the battery rather than relying on the enclosure alone.
Die-cast structure
EcoFlow documents a die-cast aluminium-alloy enclosure and IP66 rating. The installation location must still meet the product instructions and Australian requirements.
