Fletcher: newer roofs, bigger systems

Fletcher is one of Newcastle's newer growth suburbs, and that changes the job in the installer's favour. Roofs are modern sheet metal in good condition, switchboards are recent, and there's usually little shading from neighbouring trees.

That combination means a full-sized array is realistic, and it usually means storage stacks up too — a large modern home with ducted air conditioning generates plenty of surplus through the day and then uses heavily in the evening.

Newer estates do bring one consideration: houses sit close together, and a two-storey neighbour can shade a roof plane at certain times of year. We check that on site rather than assuming an open aspect.

Cable runs, conduit and inverter placement are planned before install day so the finished job looks deliberate on a newer home's facade.
